Founder & Chief Operating Officer·Permittable AI

Barry Alavi is the founder of Permittable AI, a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with more than 38 years leading large, multi-disciplinary infrastructure programs from concept through commissioning and handover.

Over his career he has directed complex, multi-group construction efforts, including the deployment of more than 10 miles of cellular antenna and network infrastructure across Seattle's transit tunnels, and negotiated utility agreements, right-of-way, and real-estate acquisitions with public and private stakeholders alike.

He pairs operational rigor across corporate and project risk management, cost and budget control, and milestone scheduling with the relationship-building needed to align engineers, contractors, inspectors, government bodies, and senior executives around a single delivery plan. He taught project management as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington from 2005 to 2011, and now brings that field-tested experience to reinventing how permitting works.
